projects

Between all of the lovely thunderstorms we have been having, I have been outdoors painting the brick foundation on my house.  Some of the brick was painted red ???? and some was left red brick.  I decided to go ahead and paint it all black to match the rest of the house.  All that is left is the front porch and I hope to finish that today.  Finleys birthday party is a week from Sunday and I want the outdoors looking lovely!

Above is a chevron print I painted the other day.  I forgot how much I enjoy painting!

Ohh and remember that painting upholstery tutorial from the other day?  I just found a velvet tufted chaise lounge that I will attempt to paint!  I can't wait to share it with you!

Painting Fabric

Good Morning!
I have actually had time this morning to read other blogs as I sit and drink my coffee.  Only because we are skipping spinning and weight class today :(  Finley has music class and she LOVES it!
Anyway, as I was browsing I came across this amazing tutorial on painting fabric!
I thought I was pretty cool for dyeing my slipcovers for Henry's chair until I came across this!
I am so heading out today to find a chair in good condition!
We have a great upholsterer but when I can do it myself and it is a challenge, I am all for it!

You can find the tutorial here
I am going to try it out in the next week.  Children permitting ;)
I'll let you know how it goes!

Felicity

Adorable Keri Russell's home which was featured in Elle Decor.  I love the simplicity, yet elegance of it.
She is so cute.  Who didn't love Felicity?

Today I get to go on a day trip with Adam.  I couldn't be more excited!  No kiddos, just us!
Then tonight we will meet his mama and family for her birthday dinner in St. Louis.
A full day without my babies!  Bittersweet!

happy print

I'd love to stay and chat but my daughter is pulling at me to go "bye bye".
Gosh she is impatient!
Anywho, here are some adorable chevron patterns to adore!
The first photo are FLOR carpet tiles!!
I love the great patterns they are using now!
Have a great Monday! Maybe if I get a chance later I'll be able to make a real post!

love is you

All the corn is in the ground and my husband is home!!
I have someone to have coffee with in the mornings again, someone to fall asleep with,
and most importantly someone to have conversations with that don't revolve around juice, cheese, and elephants!  It's always so nice when planting is over!  However, the poor guy has fallen asleep on the couch already ;)

black and white stripes

Black and white stripes never get old.  They look great with any color and make a bold statement.  I love the turquoise chair paired with the black and white chevron rug in the last photo.
Adorable!

Sorry I have been absent!  I have been working my little heart out landscaping my newly fenced yard!  It has become a new obsession!  It works so nicely because while Henry is napping, Finley can play in the yard while I work.  It was working nicely that is until Finley ripped all of my impatients out of my planters!  Stinker!
Here is what these little ones have been up to lately...

bedroom bliss

I stumbled upon these photos on Project Nursery this weekend.  What a cool room and what darling little ones.  What I love the most is all the different textures, patterns, and layers on the bed.  I love mixing and matching bedding rather than using a matching set which can be quite boring.  Plus if you can find the right deals it can be done within a budget.  As I did mine for under 300!
Over the weekend my husband and I worked on  making our outdoor porch feel more like this...
We planted hydrangeas and magnolia trees and we painted the ceiling and the pillars.   He put up a black fence in the yard to give the kids a safe area to play.  Little Finley is a runner and there are too many vehicles coming in and out of the farm for her to be doing that without boundaries.  I'll post pics of the yard after it is complete.
Happy Monday!
